COVID-19: Nine areas in Islamabad sealed: Death toll crossed 4,000

In the last 24 hours, 74 people have died from Corona in Pakistan, while 3,138 new cases have been reported.

According to official figures released on Saturday morning, the death toll from Corona in Pakistan has risen to 4,035.

According to the National Command and Operations Center, about 87,000 people have recovered in the country so far, while there are 107,942 active cases.

So far, a total of 199,000 people in Pakistan have tested positive for Corona. The first case was reported in Karachi in late February.

As the cases of Corona have increased in different parts of the major cities of the country, selected or smart lockdown has taken place, and the movement of citizens has been restricted.

In the federal capital Islamabad, the administration has sealed off nine areas of the city and issued a map in this regard.

The map shows sealed areas and areas affected by Corona with specific markings. The sealed areas include three phases of IT, G-Nine, G-Six, I-8, and Ghauri Town.

So far, 11,981 positive cases have been reported in Islamabad.

Many areas in Lahore and Karachi have been sealed off by the administration to prevent the spread of the virus, and access has been banned. In Lahore, Gulberg, Model Town, Garden Town, Faisal Town, DHA, Gulshan-e-Ravi, and the inner city have been completely closed.

The number of corona tests in Pakistan has been gradually reduced over the past one week, and after 31,000 daily tests, the number is now around 21,000 daily for the past four days.
