COVID-19: Shahid Khaqan Abbasi Former Pakistani Prime Minister tests Corona positive
In Pakistan, six lawmakers have already died from Coronavirus while dozens are infected
Former Prime Minister and PML-N leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi’s corona test has come positive. PML-N spokesperson Maryam Aurangzeb confirmed that Shahid Khaqan had gone home and quarantine himself.
Several members of parliament from different political parties in Pakistan have fallen victim to Corona, and some have died.
Recently, the leader of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and popular singer Abrar-ul-Haq has also contracted the Coronavirus.
Sharing the news of suffering from Corona, Abrar-ul-Haq wrote, “My Corona test has been positive. I have quarantined myself at home. I will continue to perform my duties. Please pray for me and all those who fighting Corona.”
Last week, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan leader Faisal Sabzwari and his family also contracted the Coronavirus. He said on Twitter that his parents, wife, and two daughters had also been diagnosed with Corona in recent days.
Following the rise in cases of Coronavirus in Pakistan, fines have been imposed for violating social distance and not wearing masks, and strict action is being taken by the government.
According to the National Command and Operations Center, The fines imposed across the country on several shops, malls, and public transport for non-compliance with SOPS.
The death toll from the Coronavirus in Pakistan has risen to more than 2,000, with nearly 5,000 new cases reported in the past 24 hours.
According to official figures released on Monday morning, the total number of deaths in the country has risen to 2,067 after 65 more people died from the virus, while 67,249 are undergoing treatment.
The National Command and Operations Center said 22,650 tests had been performed in the past 24 hours.
