KARACHI: National Airlines (PIA) has arranged a major air operation for the return of 25,000 Pakistanis from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
According to the News, in view of the rush of passengers at PIA offices in connection with the return of Pakistanis abroad, the national airline has arranged a major air operation next week.
The PIA will repatriate 10,000 people from Saudi Arabia next week, while 15,000 people will be repatriated from the UAE, and more than 100 flights will be operated to repatriate these 25,000 passengers, spokesman P said. The IA said a large number of flights were aimed at facilitating the delivery of tickets.
It is to be noted that international air operations have been resumed in the country. In this regard, 7 flights to Gulf countries were operated from Jinnah Terminal Karachi, and more than one thousand passengers departed.
Sources said that seats on PIA flights were being sold within minutes through offices, agents, or websites, and most people were unable to get tickets, so PIA asked the government of Pakistan to provide additional personnel. Permission was sought for repatriation. After receiving permission, the national airline organized a major air operation.
It has been informed that 25,000 passengers will be brought back by more than 100 special flights, all these special flights will fly empty from Pakistan.
PIA spokesman Abdullah Khan said that PIA had arranged so many flights so that tickets could be easily available to all, with PIA offices being locked down in most places due to instructions from local governments. Closed, so tickets can be obtained from PIA offices, websites, or agents in Pakistan, hopefully, most Pakistanis will return home on these flights, and the pressure will be lessened.
