Opposition leader Shahbaz Sharif appeared before NAB today.
LAHORE: Shahbaz Sharif, the leader of the opposition in the National Assembly, appeared before the NAB (National Accountability Bureau) today in income-beyond means and money laundering investigation.
After the Lahore High Court granted bail, PML-N President and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif appeared before the NAB in Lahore.
Before Shahbaz Sharif’s arrival at the NAB office, a large number of party workers were present outside the NAB office and chanted slogans when the party president arrived.
Extraordinary security arrangements were made for the PML-N president’s appearance in the NAB. 500 anti-rights force personnel, including police, were deployed while the main road around the NAB office was sealed off with a barrier.
The three-member NAB investigation team questioned Shahbaz Sharif for one hour and fifteen minutes regarding money laundering and assets in excess of income.
The NAB team consisted of officers from the Investigation, Prosecution, and Intelligence, while special attention was paid to social distances.
The NAB team sought answers from Shahbaz Sharif on the questions posed to him at the last hearing, including details of assets, loans taken from banks, and the extraordinary increase in assets of his family as Punjab Chief Minister.
The NAB team discussed with Shahbaz Sharif whether to call again after reviewing the answers.
