ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has approved an action plan against those responsible for the sugar crisis.
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Accountability Shehzad Akbar called on Prime Minister Imran Khan and presented recommendations for action against those involved in the sugar crisis, including legal action against those involved, as well as regulation of the sugar sector and money recovery mechanism.
After this, a high-level meeting was held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister in which Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar, Federal Ministers, Special Assistants, and other senior officials participated.
During the meeting, action against those responsible was considered in the light of the Sugar Inquiry Forensic Report.
The Prime Minister approved an action plan against those responsible for the sugar crisis and decided to implement the recommendations of the Commission of Inquiry report.
A high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan approved the crackdown.
Special Assistant Shehzad Akbar and Federal Minister Shibli Faraz will brief the media on the decision to be taken at the meeting shortly.
