ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan will inaugurate the Kohala Hydropower Project in Muzaffarabad today and address the function as well as distribute checks under the Ehsaas program.

According to details, Prime Minister Imran Khan will pay a one-day visit to Muzaffarabad today, where he will meet Azad Kashmir President Sardar Masood Khan and Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider.

Sources said that Prime Minister Imran Khan would also inaugurate the Kohala Hydropower Project. A briefing on the project will be given to the Prime Minister on occasion.

The Prime Minister will address the function in Muzaffarabad while he will also be briefed on the Ehsas Program and New Pakistan Housing Project in Azad Kashmir, and Imran Khan will distribute checks among the people under the Ehsas Program.

Yesterday, a tripartite agreement was signed for the Kohala hydro project of 1124 MW hydropower project under CPEC. Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider, Chinese Ambassador, Federal Ministers, and Chairman CPEC Authority Lieutenant General (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa were also present.

Addressing the function, Prime Minister Imran Khan had said that the huge investment in the Kohala Hydro project under CPEC is a very important development for Pakistan. We have to provide employment to the youth at this time. Jobs will be found.

The Prime Minister said that it was a crime to build a powerhouse with imported fuel in Pakistan, the use of imported fuel increased the price of electricity and also increased the current account deficit, Pakistan has the potential to generate electricity from water, and this project is one way forward.
