The National Assembly passed the Federal Budget 2020-20 by a majority vote
The National Assembly unanimously approved the federal budget for the next financial year 2020-20.
Prime Minister Imran Khan was also present in the House chaired by Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser.
All the amendments proposed by the opposition for the federal budget 21-2020 were rejected.
After the budget is approved by the National Assembly, it will be approved by the Senate and then signed by the President.
It may be recalled that the government had on June 12 presented a budget of Rs 71.37 trillion for the next financial year in the Assembly.
The budget estimates government revenue at Rs 4,963 billion in revenue and Rs 1,610 billion in non-tax revenue from the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
The budget has a deficit of Rs. 3437 billion, which is 7% of the gross domestic product (GDP) while no new tax has been imposed for the new financial year.
Rarely has such a budget been presented, Hamad Azhar
After the approval of the budget bill in the House, the Federal Minister for Industries and Production, Hamad Azhar, said that instead of approving the budget, personal attacks were carried out today.
“We presented a tax-free budget. Rarely has such a budget been presented even when the budget was not presented, the opposition chanted slogans of disapproval, disapproval, we expelled two big mafias from Parliament.
