The Sindh budget will be presented today. No decision has been taken to increase the salaries

The Sindh government has prepared a budget for the new financial year. After the approval from the Cabinet, the Chief Minister will present the Sindh budget today.

The budget of Sindh for the next financial year will be close to Rs 1241 billion, with a deficit of Rs 18 billion.

For the first time, not a single new scheme has been included in the development plans. No decision has been taken in the budget to increase the salaries of the employees and now the Cabinet will take a decision in this regard.

The Chief Minister will present the budget of the Sindh government for the new financial year in the Sindh Assembly after the approval of the Cabinet.

Sindh’s budget for the next financial year will be around Rs 1241 billion. The new budget will also have a deficit of Rs 18.5 billion. Rs 731 billion will be received from the federation.

In addition, Rs. 313 billion will be collected in the form of provincial taxes. Rs. 165 billion has been allocated for the development program. This is the first time that no new scheme has been included in development projects.

No decision has been taken in this budget to increase the salaries of the employees and now the Cabinet will take a decision in this regard. Including subsidy and loan of Rs 10 Billion.

Farmers will get fertilizers, seeds, pesticides at 50 percent subsidized rates. Loans of Rs 10 billion have been set aside for small businesses.

Regarding health, Rs 5 billion has been allocated separately for coronavirus in the budget of the Sindh government. The budget of the health department has been increased from Rs 120 billion to Rs 140 billion.

In addition, Rs. Twenty-two billion has been set aside for the education sector and Rs. One hundred ninety-six billion has been set aside. The budget of the Local Government Department has been increased from Rs. 5.5 billion to Rs. 40 billion. Rs 45 crore has been allocated for the eradication of locust heart in Sindh.

Regarding taxes, a target of Rs 135 billion has been given to the Sindh Revenue Board in the Sales Tax on Services.

Only 25% of members of the Sindh Assembly will be able to participate in the budget session while other members will be able to participate in the budget session online. The rules and regulations of the Sindh Assembly have been amended. They will be able to participate in the proceedings of the House. The Speaker of the Sindh Assembly will be able to call an online session whenever he wants.
