The federal government has presented a federal budget of Rs. 71.37 trillion for the financial year 2020-2021 in which no new tax has been imposed.

After the federal budget, mobile phones made in Pakistan will become cheaper while the prices of clothes and shoes will come down.

Rickshaws, motorbike rickshaws, and 200cc motorcycles will also be cheaper, while the prices of imported food supplements for children with genetic diseases will also be lower.

The budget proposes to increase the limit for purchases without ID cards for ordinary buyers from Rs 50,000 to Rs 100,000, while cement prices will also come down.

In the budget for the next financial year, non-filers who pay more than Rs 2 lakh in annual school fees will pay 100% tax.

Imported cigarettes, cigars, and tobacco will become more expensive, the price of energy drinks will also increase, and it is proposed to levy a tax on those who own double cabin vehicles.

The budget did not announce an increase in salaries and pensions of government employees.
